Course Description

The purpose of this course is to discuss human anatomy, physiology and the role of the Endogenous Cannabinoid Receptor System (ECS).

The ECS was first discovered by scientists in the early 1990’s and our understanding of this complex system is still evolving. In this course we explore the elements of our ECS and discuss what we currently know, including endogenous cannabinoids, cannabinoid receptors, orphan receptors, and how phytocannabinoids interact with this complex system. Through video lectures and visual aids, this course explores the ECS and dives into the scientific evidence behind why we feel certain effects from cannabis.

Learners will come away with a thorough understanding of the ECS and how cannabis interacts with the body.
